OOC: Firstly, I want to stress one thing. This role play is currently for samoht and samoht only. There are two reasons for this. The first being that both samoht and I wish to work on our writing in a more or less controlled environment. With several characters, the environment is a little less controllable. The second reason is because I do wish for others to, eventually, join, but I have never done this kind of role play before, and I am not sure if any of you have as well.

In about a week, I will open this role play up to the rest of you. However, you must submit a writing sample, in the context of the role play, in order to be accepted. The reason for this is that it will be a good amount of work for me to keep track of your characters and what they have, and I want to make sure you can write with a good amount of detail to make my work easier. First and foremost, this role play is an experiment, as well as a chance for samoht and myself to improve our writing styles.

The basic idea of the role play is this: I will draw out details of a room or area, and the person whose turn it is will write out those details. It will not be fully their choice, as they will be limited to certain options. When I post about your room, I will put a lot of detail into the post, such as where weapons are, enemies, torches, exits, and all sorts of things. Please use as many of the details that are helpful to you in your post, and once your business in the room is complete, choose an exit. I will then post the new room.

For example, if you're in a room with two goblins, detail the combat. Don't simple say "Mike swung his sword, cutting off the goblins head. He turned and swung his sword again, catching the second goblin in the chest, spewing blood everywhere." At first glance, this is acceptable. However, there is a problem. While it is likely your powerful adventurer can, in fact, do this, it gets rather mundane if every battle is like this. So, once in a while is fine, but don't get into the habit.

samoht has his lovely moderator powers for this forum, and I won't hesitate to ask him to remove a post I feel is not up to the quality I would like. I will, however, PM the post back to you and ask for changes, and allow you to post again. I want this to be fun for everyone, but it is kind of rude to not post to the best you can. You have plenty of time, use it wisely.

I will be posting the first part of this role play shortly, and hope to have it up before the end of the night.
